Software Engineer - Server Side Software Engineer - Server SideWatercooler Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join our core engineering team. We are a rapidly growing consumer internet company with many millions of users in the media and entertainment space. This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ownership of many features across our web properties. This person has a strong foundation in computer science and consistently comes up with creative solutions and new ideas. We're looking for someone who likes the fun and fast paced environment of a startup and who is excited by the technical challenges of a rapidly growing web company.
Responsibilities
- Design and code new features and enhancements across all our product offerings
- Participate in all aspects of a project life-cycle, from specifications through QA
- Collaborate on finding and fixing bugs and scalability/optimization issues
- Help automate, maintain and enhance our internal reporting and administration tools
Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field from a top tier university
- Strong programming skills (PHP knowledge is a plus)
- Strong SQL and database design skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Driven and self-motivated, a self-starter who can work without needing direct supervision
- Working knowledge of front-end technologies (Javascript, CSS)
- Strong familiarity with Web 2.0 / Social Networking websites.
